About The Position

The Sentinel Lead Systems Engineer for Transmitter integration will serve as the technical lead to the Product Team. Raytheon engineers develop the next generation of defense technologies that support our military and protect our nation and allies. Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in a technical leadership position.
  • Experience in requirements analysis and specification.
  • Experience with System Integration & Test and Verification of hardware and software.
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following: RF transmitters, generators, power supplies, microwave devices, interfaces, cooling methods, reliability, trade studies, radar engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or electrical engineering.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Raytheon Level 4 Certified Lead System Engineer or Lead System Engineer on a Development Program
  • Experience leading an effort or team, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines and developing and presenting technical briefings
  • Knowledge in radar design, modeling/simulation, hardware/software integration, test and verification
  • Ability to develop effective internal and external customer/stakeholder relationships to ensure customer/stakeholder satisfaction and continued business.
  • Experience overseeing and presenting financial metrics (e.g., budget, schedule, variance reports, earned value metrics).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead for the integration of a new Transmitter into an existing radar system.
  • Serve as the principal arbiter of the Transmitter requirements and performance, interpreting internal and external customer requirements and objectives, effectively decomposing them into actionable direction for the program team and stakeholders.
  • Validate and update the Transmitter requirements, lead the design activity to insert the Transmitter into the existing radar design, and lead the hands-on integration and verification of the Transmitter and the Radar System.
  • Coordinate the flight test planning and conduct flight tests in Fullerton and possibly other U.S. test ranges.
  • Analyze performance, functional, environmental and other qualification data and conduct customer acceptance testing.
  • Prepare verification procedures and reports.
  • Protect the system’s technical integrity to ensure we deliver a product that meets the customer and warfighter’s needs while working through challenges to accelerate schedule.
  • Coordinate with other Radar Systems engineers who are already familiar with this radar and will provide support for this activity
  • Communicate regularly with Raytheon leadership and the customer to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed.
