We are seeking a Principal Communications Generalist supporting strategic employee communications and enterprise change initiatives, who thrives on change and executes with an unrelenting focus on quality. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Employee Communications, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the creation, development, and execution of effective internal communication strategies globally. In this dynamic and varied role, your work will include communications strategy development, organizational change management communications, and employee engagement communications. This role is also responsible for ensuring consistency of on-brand messaging across internal communications channels, as well as enabling audience measurement and a data-driven strategy that informs our approach and channel enhancements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant corporate communications experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant corporate communications experience

  • Excellent writing, editing, and creative skills.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and content contributors/subject matter experts.
  • Experience with working knowledge of programs and applications such as PowerPoint, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams and various desktop publishing
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Creative problem-solving skills and solid business acumen to connect communication strategies to business objectives.
  • Experience working directly with senior leaders and collaborating cross-functionally with leaders and peers in other functions across the globe.
  • Willingness to learn and implement the Medtronic brand voice in communications
  • Accuracy, accountability, and strong organizational skills are essential to a successful performance
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

  • Handles creating and implementing multiple forms of internal strategic communication activities, programs and content guided by the Medtronic Mission and enterprise business strategy.
  • Leads strategies, produces content and organizes events to help align the organization's goals in support of greater employee engagement and business impact.
  • Generates comprehensive strategic plans that engage employees with the objectives, policies, Mission, and growth strategies of the company.
  • Responsible for planning, storytelling, writing and editing to persuade, educate and inspire internal audiences to change behavior or understand the work environment.
  • Brings a digital-first, audience-centric, data-driven approach to understanding the employee audience and how to reach them through modern, targeted techniques and approaches.
  • Strong change management communications capabilities and an understanding of organizational dynamics and social psychology.
