About The Position

We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Principal Infrastructure & Network Engineer to lead the evolution of SRP’s Operational Technology (OT) network infrastructure supporting our power generation fleet. This role is pivotal in shaping the secure, resilient, and scalable network foundations that underpin critical control systems across diverse generation technologies. As a leader within the Generation Infrastructure, Security, & Compliance (GISC) team, you will serve as the architect of next-generation OT network solutions, driving strategic initiatives that align with SRP’s mission of delivering reliable and sustainable energy. You will act as a bridge between Engineering, Operational Technology, and Information Technology (IT), bringing deep technical insight, architectural foresight, and a collaborative mindset to complex challenges. This role demands a unique blend of technical mastery, leadership, and strategic influence. You will guide the design and implementation of secure network architectures, mentor engineering teams, and partner with cybersecurity, compliance, and operations stakeholders to ensure our infrastructure meets the highest standards of performance and protection. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 14 years may be considered.
  • Guides others in resolving complex issues in own specialized area and solves complex problems with implications on cross-functional business processes and outcomes.
  • Serves as an advisor and applies knowledge of strategies that can be deployed within own function and discipline.
  • Applies working knowledge of the theories and concepts in other disciplines.
  • May lead teams or projects with broad visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs as a leader/engineer on projects and programs which are large or have many complex features.
  • Prepares specifications, evaluates bids, and prepares recommendation materials for management consideration when evaluating large or complex procurements.
  • Performs as a staff consultant and/or advisor in a technical specialty.
  • Performs design, configuration, analysis, and studies in an area of technical specialty requiring a significant knowledge of related fields.
  • Provides technical discipline leadership when administering and reviewing work performed by consultants and others.
  • May prepare and/or conduct written and oral reports and presentations.
  • When required/requested, serves on industry committees and task forces as a representative of SRP.
  • Performs an active leadership role in promoting safety within department.
  • Actively develops and trains others on technical, project management, and/or best practices.
  • Identifies or creates development opportunities.
  • Establishes and applies policies, procedures, and standards to deliver secure, reliable and efficient solutions.
  • Works collaboratively with all stakeholders in the best interest of SRP.
  • Represents SRP in legal and regulatory matters or proceedings of technical nature when required.
  • Demonstrates substantive thought leadership to further new ideas, products, services, and/or business processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and/or customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates substantive leadership in organizational change management to foster the success of new business products, services, and/or business processes.
  • Supports the full lifecycle of network equipment and systems
  • Supports root cause analysis work resulting in recommended corrective actions for management consideration.
