Principal Infrastructure Architect

Globus Medical•Audubon, PA

About The Position

The Principal Infrastructure Architect owns the end-to-end technical design of Globus Medical’s on-premises core platform, with decision authority over technology choices within standards set by the SVP. The role develops technical proposals and business cases for executive review, leads the technical aspects of vendor selection and agreements, and remains accountable through platform construction, migration, and the first year of operation. The architect designs target and transition states for compute, virtualization, storage, backup, data protection, and disaster recovery across office locations, accounting for capacity, performance, resilience, and anticipated growth. The role leads the design, installation, configuration, hardening, and acceptance of the Audubon platform and Limerick recovery site, including servers and GPU nodes, private cloud, storage, backup, and network and identity integrations. It also designs the infrastructure for Oracle Database, SharePoint Server, Exchange Server, and data and AI workloads, in collaboration with relevant teams. The role establishes backup and disaster-recovery architecture and testing, including replication, retention, immutability, restore testing, recovery objectives, and an annual disaster-recovery exercise. It prepares technical sections of capital requests and business cases, including options, multi-year costs, risks, and recommendations, and presents them to executives when requested. It also leads technical vendor evaluations, proof-of-concept work, negotiations, and acceptance requirements. The architect publishes infrastructure standards, reference architectures, build documentation, naming conventions, and configuration baselines; establishes infrastructure change review; and mentors engineers in Audubon and Chennai. The platform must meet CISO security requirements, including segmentation, privileged access, hardening, SIEM logging, encryption, and audited change. The architect designs for operational use through monitoring, capacity reporting, patching, lifecycle management, runbooks, and handover to operations teams in Chennai and the US. The position requires compliance with company conduct standards and applicable laws and regulations, completion of introductory and annual compliance training, and professional, ethical, and socially responsible representation of the company. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
