About The Position

Equisoft Inc. is seeking a Principal Functional Developer in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves handling the delivery of functionality defined in stories, ensuring consistent design across teams and multiple work efforts. The developer will lead project work, support the functional development strategy, and provide project status reports to leadership and clients. Key responsibilities include identifying and establishing integration points with Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA), leading configuration standards, and providing mentorship on implementation. The role also requires designing solutions that are portable to other implementations and describing high-level technical aspects of integration, such as push events, AsFile, and Exposed Computation (inbound and outbound). The developer will design configurations according to project technical requirements, resolve challenging business process issues, and share solution designs with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Insurance and/or information technology industries.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Procedural programming.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: SQL.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: General database concepts such as query building and optimization.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Working in the insurance industry, handling life and annuity insurance products and policy administration implementation.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Insurance Policy Administration.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Working on commissions, claims, and New Business Underwriting (NBU).
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Designing business solutions that are also portable to other implementations.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with/in: Identifying and establishing points with Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA).

Responsibilities

  • Handle delivery of functionality defined in stories maintaining consistent design across the teams and multiple work efforts.
  • Lead project work and support functional development strategy.
  • Provide reports on the status of projects to leadership as well as clients.
  • Identify and establish integration points with Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA).
  • Lead configuration standards and provide mentorship on implementation.
  • Design solutions portable to other implementations.
  • Provide a high-level description of technical aspects of integration such as push events, AsFile, and Exposed Computation (inbound and outbound).
