About The Position

GliaCell is seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer on one of their subcontracts. This full-time position involves providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission-related software and systems for a large government contract. The role acts as a full stack developer for the Section 7 DAT team, focusing on improving mission processes in a fast-paced environment. The organization is dedicated to discovering opportunities and enabling activities across various technical fields. The engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering custom applications, providing data visualization, workflow automation, and mission cognizance for critical activities. This role requires close collaboration with the mission customer to collect requirements, gather feedback, and provide support as needed, adapting to rapidly changing customer needs in a customer service-like software development capacity.

Requirements

  • Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • 12 years of Professional/Education experience and a Bachelors of Science Degree, or 4 additional years in place of a BS Degree.
  • Works well independently as well as on a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience developing in Python specifically data transformations.
  • Experience writing frontend webapps in Javascript/Typescript React.
  • Experience querying and developing in a big data environment.
  • Experience developing on managing Linux servers.
  • Is comfortable work directly with customers and users to solve unique hard problems.
  • Desire to architect and implement solutions from beginning to end.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AWS.
  • Experience with any other programming languages or frameworks (Java, FastApi, Angular, Spring Boot etc.).
  • Desire to mentor and teach others.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML and Big Data Tools (DuckDB, Polars, Pandas, Spark).

Responsibilities

  • Develop scripts and analytics to provide novel insights into unique questions.
  • Find and aggregate data from disparate sources and integrate into new and existing tools.
  • Develop new UIs and visualizations to provide customers with better understanding of their data.
  • Elicit requirements and feedback directly from end-users and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other DATs and QC teams to share expertise and elevate all teams.
