In this Principal Full Stack Engineer, Architecture & Platform role, you will define and govern frontend architecture across enterprise web platforms. You will establish architectural standards, design systems, and scalable UI engineering strategies. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Frontend engineering experience.
  • Experience architecting enterprise-scale web systems.

Responsibilities

  • Define frontend architecture standards across programs.
  • Architect scalable SPA and distributed UI systems.
  • Establish domain-driven UI structuring.
  • Design micro-frontend or federated architecture where applicable.
  • Lead framework and technology selection decisions.
  • Define and drive scalable, resilient backend architecture and services for enterprise platforms.
  • Lead the design and development of APIs, business services, data-access layers, and integrations across distributed systems.
  • Establish backend engineering standards, architectural patterns, security, performance, and reliability practices while mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions.
  • Define reusable enterprise component platforms.
  • Institutionalize architectural patterns: Layered UI architecture, Event-driven UI orchestration, State isolation strategies, Middleware patterns
  • Prevent architectural drift across teams.
  • Establish clear performance budgets and enforce monitoring standards.
  • Architect frontend systems to support: High concurrency, Real-time streaming data, Complex, multi‑step workflows. Progressive, adaptive user experiences
  • Mentor senior engineers.
  • Drive modernization (legacy to modular architecture).
  • Influence frontend engineering hiring standards.
  • Align frontend architecture with backend domain models.
