About The Position

Amazon seeks a Principal Finance Manager to partner with innovators, builders, and operators who think outside of the box and transform bold new ideas into high-impact strategic initiatives that redefine Amazon’s presence on the global stage. This role is for individuals who thrive at the intersection of strategy, finance, and execution and want to directly shape how a business scales a portfolio delivering outsized customer and business value. As Principal Finance Manager, you will operate independently and cross-functionally to drive financial strategy and deliver results in a fast-moving, start-up environment. Assignments will be ambiguous and demand a highly analytical, intellectually curious leader with sharp judgment who can evaluate situations through the lens of the customer, business owner, and financial investor. You must be strategic in vision, rigorous in analysis, and proven in managing competing priorities while influencing decisions through compelling financial narratives, data-driven recommendations, and creative alternatives. This role requires regular engagement with senior business and finance leaders across Amazon.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
  • 8+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and partner with cross-functional teams across strategic initiatives, ensuring operating plans deliver strong returns on investment and sustainable, long-term growth
  • Shape strategic decisions by developing and presenting analyses, frameworks, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Evaluate and steer business plans encompassing pricing, monetization, roadmap, resourcing, and investment allocation
  • Define and analyze key metrics to measure business and financial performance; surface insights that accelerate improvement
  • Own end-to-end P&L forecasting and reporting across multiple planning cycles
