Job Summary: The Expert Enterprise Software Administrator is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing enterprise software deployments, maintenance, and optimizations. With deep technical expertise, this role leads automation efforts, enhances system performance, and ensures compliance with security and licensing policies. This role requires problem-solving capabilities to address complex issues and guide system enhancements. This role often collaborates with developers, vendors, and internal teams to align software solutions with business objectives while mentoring less experienced software administrators.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in designing and configuring workflows, custom fields, permissions, and issue types.
  • Experience with Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, REST APIs, and integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with identity and access management tools (Okta, LDAP).
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience in software administration in a complex environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting skills (Groovy, PowerShell, or Python) are a plus.
  • Experience integrating Jira with CI/CD pipelines and development tools

Responsibilities

  • Software Administration: Manage the day-to-day operations of enterprise-wide software products, including user management, permissions, workflows, custom fields, screens, dashboards, and project configurations.
  • Software Deployment and Configuration: Manage the advanced configuration and deployment of enterprise software applications, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Software Maintenance and Updates: Manage system / software updates, plugin installations, migrations, and performance tuning.
  • Security and Access Management: Implement advanced security measures, including encryption, user permissions, and access controls.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide expert-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex issues across multiple software platforms, recommending long-term solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor software performance and collaborate with other teams to optimize system functionality.
  • Process Improvement: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that optimize workflows and reporting capabilities.
  • Automations and Integrations: Lead the design and development of advanced automation workflows and integrations to optimize enterprise systems. Manage complex integrations between multiple enterprise software applications and external systems. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation and integration issues, ensuring continuous system performance.
  • Training and Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and user guides. Conduct training sessions and support onboarding of new team members.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor less experienced software administrators in day-to-day software administration and addressing tactical issues.
  • Governance and Best Practices: Contribute to the development and enforcement of best practices, governance policies, and system standards across functional team.
  • Jira Administration: Manage day-to-day operations of Jira, including user management, permissions, workflows, custom fields, screens, dashboards, and project configurations.
  • Automation & Integrations: Implement automation using Jira automation rules, ScriptRunner, APIs, and integrations with third-party tools (e.g., Salesforce, GitHub, MS Teams, PagerDuty, etc.).
  • Confluence Management: Administer Confluence spaces, permissions, templates, and macros to support documentation and collaboration needs.
