About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Administrator to ensure our critical SaaS applications, particularly Atlassian, are secure, scalable, and fully integrated with our Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. As a Senior Administrator, you will be a key technical owner of the Atlassian Cloud suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management) and a critical contributor to our overall SaaS identity strategy. You will be responsible for the configuration, administration, security, and integration of these core business platforms, ensuring seamless and secure access for all employees. This role requires a strong focus on automation and security best practices. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $127,000 and up to $175,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. In this role you can expect to: Atlassian Suite Administration (Jira & Confluence) Platform Ownership: Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert (SME) for Atlassian Cloud products (Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management). Configuration & Customization: Design, configure, and maintain complex projects, schemes, workflows, issue types, and custom fields to meet the diverse needs of Engineering, Product, and Business teams. Performance & Health: Monitor the health, performance, and security of the Atlassian environment, managing marketplace apps, integrations, and user access controls. Governance: Develop and enforce best practices for Atlassian usage, standardization across projects, and data governance. Identity and Access Management (IAM) & SaaS Integration Identity Federation: Configure and maintain seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) integration between our Identity Provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD) and all key SaaS applications using protocols like SAML 2.0 and SCIM. Lifecycle Management (LCM): Implement and manage automated user provisioning and deprovisioning processes (SCIM) across the SaaS ecosystem to ensure rapid, secure, and compliant onboarding/offboarding. Group Management: Oversee and standardize security groups and access roles within Atlassian and other critical applications based on the principle of Least Privilege. Access Auditing: Lead efforts in automating access reviews and generating audit reports for compliance purposes (e.g., SOC 2). Automation and Technical Operations Scripting & API: Utilize scripting languages and Atlassian's APIs to build custom automation scripts and utilities for configuration management, reporting, and mass updates. Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 3 expert support for complex issues related to Atlassian performance, application integrations, and identity authentication failures. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and process guides for all managed systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT Administration, with a minimum of 3 years directly administering Atlassian Cloud
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in configuring, securing, and maintaining Jira Software (including advanced workflows and custom fields) and Confluence.
  • Strong working knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, and hands-on experience configuring SAML 2.0 and SCIM for SaaS application integration (especially with Atlassian Access).
  • Proven experience managing and integrating enterprise applications like Google Workspace or Slack with an Identity Provider.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and utilizing REST APIs.

Nice To Haves

  • Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certifications (e.g., Jira Administrator, Confluence Administrator).
  • Experience with a modern Identity Provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD/Entra ID).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for managing configuration.
