About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking an experienced Jira Administrator to join our IT department and manage the enterprise-wide Atlassian application suite. This role will focus on platform configuration, system administration, and ensuring optimal performance of our project tracking and collaboration tools that support spacecraft development and manufacturing operations across the organization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Fouradditionalyears of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • 10 years of hands-on Jira administration experience in enterprise IT environments
  • 5 years of experience with IT service management principles and best practices
  • 7 years' experience with JQL (Jira Query Language) and system configuration
  • 8 years' experience with user management, authentication systems (LDAP, SAML, SSO), and access controls
  • 8 years' experience with database concepts and SQL basics
  • 8 years' experience with API integrations and webhooks
  • Ability to travel to Palo Alto facility occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-620) or Atlassian Certified Expert certification
  • Experience administering Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Service Management, or other Atlassian products
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Groovy, Python) and automation frameworks (ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira)
  • Experience with REST APIs and system integrations
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries
  • Understanding of ITAR/EAR compliance requirements
  • ITIL certification or IT service management experience
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain enterprise Jira Cloud/Data Center instances, including user provisioning, authentication, security configurations, and license management
  • Design and implement custom workflows, screens, fields, issue types, automation rules, and project templates to meet organizational needs
  • Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise systems (SSO/SAML, Active Directory, ServiceNow, Ivanti) and manage Atlassian Marketplace apps
  • Provide tier 2/3 technical support, troubleshooting, and serve as technical lead for all Atlassian platform-related issues
  • Monitor system health and performance, coordinate systemupgradesand patches, and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures
  • Establishand enforce IT governance policies, including naming conventions, project archival policies, data retention standards, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct regular system audits for compliance, performance, and security in alignment with corporate IT policies
  • Partner with IT leadership, Cyber Security, and Stakeholders to align Atlassian tools with enterprise architecture and provide technical solutions
  • Create andmaintaincustom dashboards, filters, JQL queries, and executive-level analytics for organizational visibility
  • Develop standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and training materials while conducting end-user training sessions
