About The Position

The Enterprise Data Architect Level 6 serves as an enterprise authority in defining, governing, and advancing McKesson’s data architecture strategy. This role establishes the future state vision for enterprise data capabilities and ensures alignment across business, analytics, platform, and solution teams. Operating at the highest level of architectural accountability, this role influences enterprise wide technology direction rather than owning delivery for a single domain or initiative. The architect ensures that data architecture decisions are scalable, compliant, and aligned to long range business and technology strategy. The role acts as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders, leads enterprise architecture governance, and mentors architects across the organization to drive architectural consistency, maturity, and measurable business impact while enabling domain teams to execute within defined enterprise guardrails.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirement - Degree or equivalent and typically requires 13+ years, with 8+ years, of direct work related experience. Less years required if has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise data architecture and information architecture
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with strong governance requirements
  • Demonstrated success defining and governing enterprise wide architecture strategy
  • Experience leading architectural governance and influencing large scale transformation
  • Establish decision frameworks that integrate data, architecture standards, non functional requirements, risk, and policy into intake outcomes
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the Canada, now or in the future, without the support from McKesson.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture vision aligned to business strategy and regulatory requirements
  • Establish enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and reference models
  • Own and evolve long range data architecture direction to support scalability and interoperability
  • Define and own the enterprise semantic layer, including cross domain data models and standardized calculations to enable consistent reporting and analytics
  • Establish guardrails and decision frameworks that guide data architecture across domains
  • Evaluate architectural risks and manage enterprise level exceptions
  • Guide enterprise investment decisions based on architectural fit and sustainability
  • Advise senior leaders on data architecture strategy and tradeoffs
  • Communicate enterprise architecture direction to executive and technical audiences
  • Advance enterprise architecture maturity and consistency
  • Influence and set direction for enterprise data platforms and tooling
  • Partner with Security, Data, Platform, and Delivery leaders to ensure intake decisions reflect enterprise priorities
  • Define the data architecture that underpins intelligent intake, including data capture, enrichment, and context required for AI driven triage and routing
