About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer Planning Analyst to join their team in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite. The role involves coordinating with technical leadership and cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) to manage Training and Support Equipment development, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical objectives are met. The position offers the opportunity to manage cross-functional execution for Training & Support Equipment development, develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders, define and manage project tasks, and serve as a Work Package Manager for Training and Support Equipment disciplines. Responsibilities also include tracking budget actuals, financial performance against baselines, participating in Control Account Manager (CAM) status calls, providing Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) status, supporting stakeholder meetings, reviewing time charging accuracy, supporting logistics teams with staffing requirements and forecasts, and performing schedule risk assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience, OR Master’s degree, with 3 years’ experience; PhD with 1 year experience
  • Experience in project management and/or control account management
  • Experience with CAM and EVM methodologies
  • Experience in contracts executing full-earned value management
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with technical leadership in a cross functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives
  • Manage cross functional & horizontal execution for Training & Support Equipment development
  • Develop and deliver presentations to customers, management, and other program stakeholders
  • Define, plan, perform, monitor, control, and complete a variety of project tasks to include developing Engineering rhythm
  • Serve as Work Package Manager for Training and Support Equipment disciplines
  • Track budget actuals against predictions and financial performance against the full EV performance management baseline, participate in CAM status calls, prepare status for/attend weekly status meeting, provide bi-monthly Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) status, support stakeholder meetings, review Actual Hours reports for time charging accuracy and alignment with IMS status.
  • Support logistics team, generate staffing requirements, documentation, and forecasts
  • Support agile alignment to QSST & IMS
  • Adhere to all internal processes for Product Support
  • Perform schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks
