About The Position

Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents, including but not limited to Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • At least 15 years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry
  • At least 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a nuclear industry/facility
  • Experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
  • Ability to perform weekly field walk-downs of the job site for engineering work.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' security clearance
  • US Citizenship Required

  • Demonstrated previous SRS Design Engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures
  • Possessed an active DOE clearance ('L' or 'Q') within the past two years
