About The Position

T&M Associates is seeking an experienced and driven Site/Civil Engineer to play a key role within our Land Development team in any of its three N.J. offices (Middletown, Bloomfield or Mount Laurel). This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a wide range of complex and meaningful projects while continuing to grow technically and professionally. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in land development design and a comprehensive understanding of zoning analysis, site layout, grading and drainage design, utility coordination, stormwater management, soil erosion and sediment control, flood hazard area design, and applicable local, regional, and state regulations. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment that supports both independent productivity and collaborative team engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Min of 8 years of relevant land development experience, including expertise in zoning, site design, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management.
  • Experience with NJDEP and NJDOT permitting is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater modeling software.
  • Ability to effectively manage responsibilities both independently and within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to delegate tasks to designers and staff engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed site designs, including grading, stormwater management, utilities, drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, and overall site planning.
  • Develop technical reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and support contract documents for land development projects.
  • Perform feasibility and due diligence analyses and support land use and zoning approvals.
  • Model and design stormwater management systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and secure land use and construction permits from local, county, and state agencies.
  • Contribute to project delivery efforts while building toward a leadership role, including mentoring junior staff, delegating tasks, and engaging with clients and regulatory agencies.
