About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Platform Engineering, you will support QVC. In this role, you will transform how the organization understands, operates, and continuously improves its technology platforms. You will bridge the gap between engineering and operations, enabling a unified approach to platform health, performance, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in operations or platform engineering with hands-on expertise in monitoring, application development, and performance tuning.
  • 10+ years of experience mentoring and coaching technical teams, including conflict resolution and collaboration.
  • 10+ years of experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • 10+ years of experience in road mapping, blueprinting, and risk assessment, leveraging emerging technologies to deliver business value.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications such as Applications Development, Network/Cisco, Linux, Windows, etc., preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of modern IT Operations platforms, combining observability, event management, and service management into a cohesive ecosystem.
  • Define enterprise-wide patterns for tools such as Dynatrace, ServiceNow, and Stonebranch, ensuring consistent and value-driven adoption across teams.
  • Drive the integration of operational tooling to enable end-to-end visibility, correlation, and actionable insight across services and user journeys.
  • Embed observability and operational requirements into platform and application design, shifting operations left within the delivery lifecycle.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for operational platforms, leading complex investigations and driving root cause and systemic improvements.
  • Design and implement intelligent alerting and event management strategies to significantly reduce noise and improve signal quality.
  • Lead the evolution of incident, problem, and change practices through automation and effective use of ServiceNow workflows and integrations.
  • Champion automation and self-healing capabilities, reducing manual intervention and enabling proactive and predictive operations.
  • Collaborate across engineering, SRE, and operations teams to align on reliability targets, service health metrics, and operational standards.
  • Mentor engineers and operational teams, building capability in modern observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence practices.
