About The Position

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer, Industrial Water to help grow our industrial water and wastewater engineering practice. This individual can be based in one of our Oakland, CA; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or from any of our other Geosyntec offices throughout the U.S. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team actively engaged in growing Geosyntec's Industrial Water practice. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand Geosyntec's presence across a broad range of industrial sectors while supporting technology advancement and project execution for complex industrial water, wastewater, treatment, reuse, and water management projects nationwide. This position is well suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in winning and leading innovative and challenging industrial water projects while collaborating with a dedicated team of technical and business professionals to grow the practice. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred).
Professional registration (i.e., P.E.).
At least 10 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in industrial and municipal clients with water supply, water treatment, and water re-use projects.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and growing a practice that sustains a group of professional junior staff.
Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
Strong oral and technical writing skills.
Valid U.S driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree (civil, chemical, or environmental engineering preferred).
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic business plans to grow Geosyntec's Industrial Water practice across diverse industrial sectors, including manufacturing, energy, mining, life sciences, technology, food and beverage, and other process industries.
Engage with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec's multidisciplinary capabilities with evolving client needs and market opportunities.
Participate in the development and implementation of the firm's strategic plan and collaborate on cross-office and cross-practice initiatives that strengthen Geosyntec's Industrial Water platform.
Implement a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients.
Contribute to each phase of project delivery, from concept development and technology selection to commissioning and operations and maintenance.
Lead the pursuit and delivery of projects involving industrial water supply, treatment, wastewater treatment, water reuse, water management, and related infrastructure.
Serve as Project Director for large and/or technically complex projects, ensuring client expectations are met, budgets are maintained, quality objectives are achieved, and follow-on work is secured.
Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering and scientific staff.
Review and lead the preparation of major proposals and presentations.
Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Represent Geosyntec through active participation in professional societies, conferences, and industry organizations.
At times, the position may also include fieldwork, including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting.
