About The Position

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Radar Cross Section (RCS) Engineer to support testing, measurement, analysis, and signature-reduction efforts for advanced aerospace and defense systems. The role calls for hands-on capability in RCS chamber operations, data processing, scattering analysis, and radar system fundamentals, with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in a secure environment. This is an onsite position in McKinney, Texas. The work takes place in a classified environment, including Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF). U.S. citizenship and an active, existing DoD Secret clearance are required after day one; the position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. Relocation may be available based on candidate eligibility.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with chamber setup, radar configuration, and RCS data collection.
  • Experience with scattering phenomena and radar measurement systems.
  • Experience in classified environments.
  • Experience with processing software such as Knowbell, MATLAB, and SABER.
  • Experience operating or maintaining robotic positioning systems.
  • Experience with Resonant Adaptable Zonal Radar (RAZR) systems.
  • U.S. citizenship; only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; an active and existing DoD Secret clearance is required after day one.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of signature-reduction materials and application techniques.
  • Experience with robotic systems used in RCS measurement environments.
  • Familiarity with RAZR systems or advanced radar test architectures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or government-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Configure the RCS chamber, measurement system, and associated data-acquisition tools to support program requirements.
  • Install or prepare test articles to ensure measurement integrity and eliminate unintended scattering sources.
  • Configure radar systems to collect data according to design engineer specifications.
  • Prepare and optimize the chamber environment to minimize unwanted scattering effects.
  • Perform system calibration using standard calibration targets such as squat cylinders.
  • Use processing codes and tools to extract results, including PCUMs and multiple plot formats.
  • Validate collected data for accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Analyze ISAR images and other data products to identify and interpret scattering mechanisms and source locations.
  • Apply knowledge of pulsed IF radar systems and signal characteristics, scattering physics, and signature-reduction materials and treatments.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve measurement-system anomalies or failures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and program stakeholders.
  • Operate within a classified environment, including Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF).
  • Interface with external partners, vendors, and government customers as required.
  • Use MS Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication.
