This is your opportunity to join the Receiver/ Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer. The department’s primary goal is to design, develop, and support land and sea-based radar systems. We are looking for a unique engineer to enhance the sustainability of our current radar products. The ideal candidate will have experience in legacy radar hardware and software technologies, with an interest and ability to transition these products to current technologies while maintaining and troubleshooting and patching our deployed systems.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Embedded C/C++ and/or Ada software development experience.
  • Experience developing on VxWorks and Linux/Unix platforms.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or ClearCase.
  • Experience in shell scripting (e.g., Bash or C Shell).
  • Experience working with VME bus-based systems.
  • Radar domain experience.
  • Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support sustainment of legacy radar systems, to involve troubleshooting, maintenance, and patching.
  • Port legacy Unix and VxWorks software to modern Linux systems or identify replacements.
  • Support software integration, testing, and verification.
