About The Position

Administers and supervises the organization and operation of the best possible learning environment for students of the school. This role involves planning and implementing human resources activities, including hiring, mentoring, disciplining, and terminations. It also includes staffing design, master scheduling, professional development, and evaluations. The Principal will oversee construction, ensure safety during emergency procedures, and guarantee the school meets state accreditation, accountability, and school improvement requirements by addressing academic achievement and performance discrepancies. The position requires implementing effective instructional and curricular practices aligned with student needs, district direction, and educational innovations within a standards-based model. The Principal will utilize resources from staff, students, the district, and the community to develop and maintain effective instructional and co-curricular programs. Responsibilities also include managing the day-to-day operations of the physical plant, overseeing a budget of approximately $12 million, including the purchase of instructional supplies, materials, and equipment, and coordinating the capital reserve process. Developing and maintaining effective communication among students, the community, faculty, and administration is crucial.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • Colorado READ Act Designation (Principal/Admin) - Colorado Department of Education
  • Type D Principal/Administrator's License - Colorado Department of Education

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement human resources activities: hires/mentors/disciplines terminations; staffing design/master schedule; professional development activities; evaluations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Oversee construction, safety of staff and students during emergency procedures.
  • Ensure that the school has met state accreditation, accountability and school improvement requirements by addressing school wide student academic achievement and patterns of low student performance and achievement discrepancies.
  • Implement effective instructional and curricular practices responding to the needs of students, the direction of the District, and valid innovations in education within a standards-based model.
  • Utilize appropriate resources of the staff, student body, school district and the community to develop and maintain highly effective instructional and co-curricular programs.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of physical plant including approximately 12 million-dollar budget design/allocation including purchase of instructional supplies, material & equipment, coordinating capital reserve process (small & large capital).
  • Develop and maintain effective communications among the students, the community, the faculty and the administration.
