About The Position

Haynes Charter for Enriched Studies is a public charter elementary school located in West Hills, serving approximately 375 students in grades TK through fifth. The student population is diverse, comprising approximately 60% White, 17% Hispanic/Latino, 11% Asian, 2% African American, and 4% identifying as Two or More Races. The school serves a range of special populations, including approximately 5% English Language Learners, 48% socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and 17% students with disabilities supported through the Resource Specialist Program. Requirements

  • Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an elementary school
  • Two years of service in a position that required and utilized an administrative credential, such as assistant principal or equivalent position
  • A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching
  • A valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • Multicultural coursework
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • District Master Plan requirements (Candidates have one year to complete this requirement)
  • Must be in the appropriate LAUSD eligible pool for the position or currently serving in the class for which they are applying.
  • Must successfully complete the appropriate LAUSD Aspiring Administrator Program to be placed in the eligible pool.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Gifted and Talented programs at the school level is preferred but not required.

  • Collaborating with parent/community members/community groups to encourage engagement and foster school climate
