Requirements

  • Experience with VFMDs (Variable Frequency Motor Drives) for vacuum generators and air compressors (ACIM/BLDC), AC/DC Power Converters (3-Φ), 28V DC Valve Controllers, and W&W System Controllers for the commercial aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in SPICE analysis of circuits using Altium/OrCAD PSPICE tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modeling for control algorithms.
  • Experience in analyzing and designing magnetics for EMI filter, boost/buck inductors and other input/output filters.
  • Experience in component selection & obsolescence management.
  • Proficiency in circuit design and schematic capture using Altium/OrCAD tools.
  • Experience in creating hardware design documents.
  • Experience in worst case load analysis (DC Load Analysis) on circuit designs.
  • Experience in component derating and thermal analysis.
  • Experience in design performance margin analysis.
  • Experience in PCB board bring-up.
  • Experience in creating PCB board level functional test procedures.
  • Experience in creating design verification test procedure (DVTP) document.
  • Experience in electronics hardware testing and generating test reports (DVTR).
  • Ability to independently find or create solutions to problems requiring research, resourcefulness and creativity.
  • Understanding of ZWWS policies and procedures.
  • Experience in reviewing and processing engineering changes.
  • Ability to utilize sound technical problem solving.
  • Ability to follow sound engineering principles to ensure designs meet airworthiness standards, customer requirements and ZWWS internal standards.
  • Ability to perform research and/or testing for new development.
  • Ability to present technical findings and trade studies.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analysis, design, development, testing, debugging and modification of electronics equipment such as VFMDs (Variable Frequency Motor Drives) for vacuum generators and air compressors (ACIM/BLDC), AC/DC Power Converters (3-Φ), 28V DC Valve Controllers, and W&W System Controllers for the commercial aerospace industry.
  • Take ownership and/or support technical engineering teams and projects related to W&W System Components.
  • Interface with cross-functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust, airworthy designs are attained which meet budget, schedule and internal requirements and goals.
  • Participate in and lead improvement activities at a group and/or company level.
  • Analyze customer requirements and validate them by analysis/modeling/prototyping or based on previous product performance.
  • Create and maintain hardware requirements specification and hardware interface control documents.
  • Perform SPICE analysis of circuits using Altium/OrCAD PSPICE tools.
  • Perform analysis and MATLAB/Simulink modeling to generate control algorithms.
  • Analyze and design magnetics for EMI filter, boost/buck inductors and other input/output filters.
  • Perform component selection & obsolescence management.
  • Perform circuit design and schematic capture using Altium/OrCAD tools.
  • Create hardware design documents that cover design analysis, notes, and specific guidelines followed.
  • Provide inputs to PCB layout design.
  • Perform worst case load analysis (DC Load Analysis) on the circuit designs.
  • Perform component derating and thermal analysis.
  • Perform design performance margin analysis.
  • Perform PCB board bring-up per the circuit design.
  • Create PCB board level functional test procedures per circuit functional blocks.
  • Create design verification test procedure (DVTP) document.
  • Perform electronics hardware testing to make sure that requirements are met and generate test reports (DVTR).

  • Review and process engineering changes in the development of water and waste systems and equipment.
  • Review, process and recommend engineering changes in the development of W&W equipment.

  • Follow sound engineering principles to ensure designs meet airworthiness standards, customer requirements and ZWWS internal standards.
  • Perform research and/or testing for new development.
