About The Position

Teledyne Digital Imaging is a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc., specializing in the manufacture, design, research, and development of high-performance CMOS and CCD image sensors and modular expandable cameras. Their products are used worldwide in various applications including machine vision, document scanning, image capture, surveillance, process monitoring, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and multimedia. As part of their continuing growth, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Principal Electronics Designer to set the technical direction for electronics design across machine vision camera platforms and related systems.

Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in advanced analog, digital, mixed‑signal, power, and high‑speed electronics design.
  • Recognized technical depth in complex PCB architectures, signal integrity, power integrity, and system‑level integration.
  • Proven track record of driving technical innovation adopted across multiple products or teams.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with ADCs, DACs, SMPS, LDOs, op‑amps, FPGAs, microcontrollers, fiber optics, and complex high‑speed interfaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
  • Typically 12+ years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for electronics design across machine vision camera platforms and related systems.
  • Architect next‑generation board‑level solutions that advance performance, scalability, reliability, and long‑term product viability.
  • Lead cross‑functional engineering efforts to solve highly complex and ambiguous technical challenges.
  • Define design frameworks, methodologies, and standards adopted across teams or programs.
  • Anticipate future technology needs and drive innovation in electronics architecture and implementation.
  • Serve as a technical authority and escalation point for critical design, production, and customer‑impacting issues.
  • Guide architectural trade‑off decisions balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and business objectives.
  • Mentor senior engineers and shape overall technical capability within the business unit.
  • Influence product roadmaps in partnership with engineering leadership, product management, and operations.
  • Support customer engagements and technical discussions where deep electronics expertise is required.
