About The Position

The Principal Electrical Engineer leads electrical engineering projects involving electric aircraft and eVTOL systems. The role oversees the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components, including those for flight-surface components. It provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to engineering team members while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet project objectives and improve processes. The engineer designs and analyzes electrical circuits and systems, supports integration and testing, troubleshoots circuit-card failures, and documents investigations and test results. The role also includes requirements review, analysis, electrical and PBA layout and design, filter and EMI filter design, DO-160 lightning design, subcontract work-scope development, and PDR development and presentation. The position reports to the Engineering Program Manager and is based in Torrance, California, or Tempe, Arizona. The posting describes the role as 100% onsite, with potential for hybrid work for the right candidate. The stated pay rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The manager is willing to review candidates with 10+ years of experience, while the pay-rate guidance refers to candidates with 15+ years.
