About The Position

The Principal Electrical Engineer will design electrical systems for digital radiographic equipment and mobile medical platforms, taking new designs from concept through production and contributing to system architecture. The role includes leading electrical design from requirements and schematic capture through production release; developing high-voltage power architectures; guiding PCB layouts and designing wire and flex harnesses; building prototypes and test fixtures; supporting system bring-up; troubleshooting hardware; and collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional partners. The position works across the office, laboratory, and home.

Requirements

• Knowledge of high-voltage design for mobile and medical equipment.
• Knowledge of lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems, battery management system hardware, and charging.
• Experience designing under regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to perform the job as described.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of radiography or fluoroscopy.
• Knowledge of IEC 60601-2-54.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from requirements and schematic capture through production release.
• Develop high-voltage power architectures, including grounding, protection, and safety.
• Guide high-speed PCB layouts in Altium Designer and design wire and flex harnesses.
• Build prototypes and test fixtures, and support system bring-up.
• Troubleshoot released and in-development hardware to identify root causes.
• Work with suppliers on design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback and component obsolescence.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and supplier partners.
• Shape system architecture, develop new data path concepts, and contribute to intellectual property development.
