About The Position

GE HealthCare is seeking a hands-on technical leader for its CT Engineering team to define how electrical power is designed, distributed, and managed across next-generation CT systems. The role combines system-level power architecture and long-term technical direction with direct engineering work, including design, analysis, prototyping, troubleshooting, and testing. The engineer will work across circuit boards and electrical subsystems to shape power architecture for CT platforms, while taking designs from concept through prototype, verification, and production support. This is not an oversight-only position: the successful candidate will remain actively involved in schematics, circuits, PCBs, prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, and design reviews while extending their influence from board-level design to system-level architecture. The position is based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in a hybrid arrangement with approximately three days onsite. Relocation assistance is available. GE HealthCare will not sponsor employment visas for this opening, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment offers are conditioned on successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with power electronics and power conversion.
  • Experience designing and analyzing electrical circuits, including schematic design and simulation.
  • Experience with PCB design/layout and schematic capture.
  • Experience taking electrical designs from concept through prototype, testing, and production support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering teams.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with switching power supplies, converters, or power distribution systems.
  • Experience with buck/boost or resonant converter design.
  • Experience with high-power or higher-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with EMC-conscious design and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with UL, ETL, IEC, or other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Experience with digital electronics or FPGA/VHDL.
  • Experience leading complex technical designs or influencing system-level architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve electrical power architecture for advanced CT systems.
  • Design analog and power electronics circuitry, including power conversion, controls, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Develop electrical architectures spanning multiple boards, components, and subsystems.
  • Create and review schematics and PCB designs using ECAD tools.
  • Lead technical design reviews and promote engineering rigor and best practices.
  • Build and evaluate prototypes and conduct hands-on troubleshooting, validation, and reliability testing.
  • Take designs from concept through prototype, verification, and production support.
  • Partner with digital, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, service, and global engineering teams to solve design challenges.
  • Balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and regulatory requirements in design decisions.
  • Help shape longer-term power electronics strategy for future CT platforms.

Benefits

  • Relocation assistance.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation.
