About The Position

The Mission Systems Environmental Effects Engineering team at Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our staff. This position will be responsible for supporting the multidisciplinary environment across different strategic business units within the company through product requirements capture, design and qualification test. This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer with analog and digital design experience. The position will be responsible for requirements capture, component assessment, PCB design, circuit board buildup, test software support, component characterization testing, and test plan/report generation. Efforts are typically to support nuclear radiation characterization testing of circuit card assemblies (CCA) for radio and display systems. Products are typically required to comply with various military standards including MIL-STD-461. In this role, you will be a key contributor to nuclear effect-related activities, working with a team of experienced nuclear survivability engineers for assigned projects and delivering comprehensive support from the design phase through qualification. You will advise on risk mitigation strategies, including parts selection and circuit design optimization. Your responsibilities will include leading testing efforts in specialized environments such as Total Ionizing Dose, Neutron Displacement Damage, Ionizing Dose Rate, and Neutron Single Event Effects. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and qualify products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity. Additionally, you will manage documentation, including preparing and reviewing nuclear test plans and reports while contributing to Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews. Beyond technical duties, you will utilize strong communication skills to support production services, communicate technical results, present findings to customers and mid-level managers, and coordinate with departments such as Business Development, Finance, and Operations. This position requires you to independently handle multiple projects and tasks.
