About The Position

This role involves assisting in development and sustaining engineering projects within the Electrophysiology division. The engineer will participate on teams, lead small-scale design changes, and complete system, analog, digital, and firmware designs. This includes setting requirements, debugging, testing electrical circuits and systems, and completing documentation. The position requires a self-starter with a focus on troubleshooting and the ability to work cross-functionally, independently, and as part of a team. The second position involves troubleshooting and failure analysis of electronic circuits, understanding schematics, designing and building prototype circuits, and documenting quality issues. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access is required, along with knowledge of common failure modes of electronic components and assemblies. The engineer may liaise with external vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Computer Science or Biomedical degree okay as long as the candidate also has EE experience.
  • Able to work cross functionally, independently, and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with a focus on troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of the common failure modes of electronic components and assemblies.
  • 0-3 years experience

Nice To Haves

  • Medical device experience would be ideal but not required.
  • Internship experience is also fine but would like to see professional experience first.
  • Masters in EE okay with an internship.

Responsibilities

  • Participates on engineering teams in completing development projects.
  • Leads small-scale design change efforts in support of continuation engineering activities.
  • Completes system, analog, digital, and firmware designs.
  • Sets and revises requirements and specifications.
  • Debugs and tests electrical circuits and systems.
  • Completes documentation to ensure feasibility and verifiability of performance.
  • Troubleshooting and failure analysis of electronic circuits, both analogue and digital.
  • Understanding of schematics and how the components of a circuit function.
  • Ability to design, build, and assemble prototype circuits for test fixtures.
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review.
  • May liaise with external vendors.
