Principal Design Quality Engineer (Onsite - El Segundo, CA)
About The Position
Our El Segundo facility is looking to add a Principal Design Quality Engineer to join our Mission Critical Products Portfolio! Design Quality Engineers are embedded throughout the engineering lifecycle to prevent defects from reaching the customer and to ensure successful program execution to meet quality, cost, schedule and technical objectives. The problems are numerous and can be undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. You will enable quality solutions, capabilities and services to engineering. Collaboration with our functional partners and customers to execute and solve problems is crucial. This role will be worked onsite in El Segundo, CA with travel to our Fullerton, CA facility and requires a current active or Final SECRET clearance prior to start. Relocation assistance is available.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Active/ability to obtain final U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date
- Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102
- Working experience overseeing teams in failure and root cause corrective analysis (RCCA), corrective and preventative actions

- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities
- Ensure Compliance to site, business, and contractual requirements
- Ensure Engineering is aligned with policies and procedures throughout the development life cycle Software and System Test Validation
- Release Verification through configuration management
- Interface with the program quality teams, customers, and Integrated Product Teams, facilitating technical quality and financial performance
- Complete Product and Process Evaluations
- Support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Party Audits
- Closely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
- Work with multiple overlapping programs
- Assuring inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget
- Monitor and lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
- Generation of new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce costs on the program
- Design Quality Basis of Estimate and New Proposals
- Manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders
- Build Trust Daily
- Travel up to 10% to Fullerton, CA
