About The Position

Nexperia USA Inc. is seeking a Principal Design Engineer in Richardson, TX to join an analog and mixed signal IC design team. The role involves developing power management products such as switching regulators, load switches, and LDOs. Responsibilities include defining and implementing circuits and architectures, building system-level behavior models, and designing whole chips at the transistor level to meet product definitions. The position requires technical and team leadership to drive product designs, collaboration with technical leadership on IP development and front-end technology roadmaps, and guidance to physical designers with monitoring of IC layout progress. The engineer will also partner with business and product marketing teams to develop design specifications and collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams for successful production transfer.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of work experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Analog/Mixed Signal design.
  • 5 years of experience in Cadence tools, including Schematic Editor, ADE Assembler, Spectre, AMS, and Layout Suite for analog/mixed-signal IC design and simulation.
  • 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and fault analysis to complete IC design during product development.
  • 5 years of experience in defining product specification with product marketing team to ensure product performance.
  • 3 years of experience in system and application design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with an analog and mixed signal IC design team to develop power management products like switching regulators, load switches, and LDO’s.
  • Define and implement circuits and architectures for product development.
  • Build systematic level behavior model and design whole chip at transistor level to meet part definition.
  • Demonstrate technical and team leadership to drive product designs.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership on the development of IP and front-end technology roadmap.
  • Work and provide guidance to physical designers and monitor the progress of IC layout.
  • Partner with business teams and product marketing teams to assist in developing design specifications.
  • Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production.
