About The Position

Within Fidelity’s Enterprise Technology Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (ET AI CoE), the Principal Data Scientist will help shape the next generation of AI at Fidelity by designing and building AI capabilities and services for institutional and retail clients. The role works directly with business partners to address challenges in artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and machine learning, delivering scalable, production-ready solutions that create customer and business value. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that guides standards and processes across NLP, speech analytics, and generative AI model development. The Principal Data Scientist mentors and uplifts data scientists and engineers, builds collaborative partnerships, and promotes quality and innovation. The role is part of a multidisciplinary AI team that develops and scales algorithms, models, frameworks, platforms, and technologies to transform customer experiences and support measurable business outcomes. The successful candidate will partner with business, product, and engineering teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions. The work includes developing algorithms, models, and occasionally applications that surface insights and contribute to revenue or cost savings, improved customer experiences, and greater efficiency through automation and optimization. Fidelity is transitioning toward a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout; current onsite expectations vary by role and location and may evolve.
