About The Position

As a Principal Data Scientist at Walmart, you will lead the development and deployment of advanced analytical models and machine learning solutions that drive strategic business decisions. About the team: The Applied AI team develops intelligent Search and Personalization solutions that enhance the shopping experience by making it more relevant and intuitive. Leveraging advanced machine learning and generative AI technologies, the team designs scalable systems that help customers find the right products effortlessly. Members collaborate to apply expertise in algorithms, deep learning, and solution design, ensuring innovative and effective applications. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in ML, deep learning, and Embedding strategies to develop and deploy scalable data science solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python and SQL, with strong coding and testing capabilities.
  • Expertise in data strategy, quality assessment, and source identification to ensure reliable and fit-for-purpose data.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, validate, and optimize analytical models using techniques such as Bayesian inference and neural networks.
  • Skilled in MLOps practices and cloud platforms like GCP for model deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Strong business acumen to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Experience mentoring teams and guiding technical development to foster continuous innovation.
  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field
