About The Position

L3Harris Enterprise Data and AI team is seeking a Data Architect with experience managing enterprise-level data life cycle processes. The role shapes the company’s data architecture and helps ensure the integrity, scalability, and efficiency of its systems. It oversees data ETL/ELT pipelines, adherence to data and architectural standards, maintenance of data frameworks, and consolidation of data in the ontology or semantic layer. The position partners closely with development teams to design, review, and implement high-quality data solutions within Palantir Foundry. The role supports the company’s modern data platform, Unified Data Layer, with a focus on data pipeline development and maintenance, data platform design, documentation, and user training. Its goal is to provide seamless access to clean, reliable data across the organization to support decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of prior Palantir experience; or a graduate degree and at least 10 years of prior Palantir experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 16 years of prior Palantir experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a data architect or in a senior data engineering role, ideally supporting enterprise-scale data and analytics platforms.
At least 4 years of experience developing data pipelines or using ETL tools such as Palantir Foundry, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Python.
At least 5 years of overall data integration experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data integration tools.

Nice To Haves

Experience architecting Palantir Foundry platforms for generative AI capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and LLM integration.
Hands-on experience designing and developing data pipelines in Palantir Foundry Pipeline Builder or Code Repository, or similar technologies leveraging PySpark and Spark SQL.
Experience with Palantir Foundry tools such as Ontology Manager, Compass, Code Repository, Solution Designer, OSDK, AI FDE, and AIP Analyst.
Demonstrated understanding of how Foundry’s Ontology, operational workflows, and governed data assets enable AI-driven business and manufacturing solutions.
Familiarity with SDLC processes and architecture review or data governance board processes.
Understanding of business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse (DW) development methodologies.
Experience with Python, Pandas, Databricks, JavaScript, TypeScript, or other scripting languages.
Experience with AI tools such as OpenAI, Palantir AIP, Snowflake Cortex, or similar.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural oversight for the company’s data platform and related initiatives, ensuring alignment with company standards and best practices.
Assist development initiatives with design reviews and guidance on architecture and data modeling.
Lead reviews of proposed solutions, including data sourcing, pipelines, models, and ontology resources, and provide actionable feedback to improve scalability.
Assist with and develop architectural artifacts, perform requirements decomposition, and create documentation supporting the software development lifecycle.
Participate in data architecture review sessions and review proposed solutions for compliance with architectural standards.
Oversee and guide data pipelines to ensure scalability, reusability, and performance.
Use Palantir Foundry for data integration and ontology management supporting big data analytics at scale.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance, metadata, and ontology standards across the data platform and enterprise.
Stay current with emerging data technologies and frameworks and recommend improvements to platform architecture.
