Principal Cybersecurity Domain Architect

Micron TechnologyBoise, ID

About The Position

Micron’s Cyber Defense & Resiliency organization is responsible for protecting the company’s global technology environment through modern security architecture, engineering, detection, and response capabilities. We drive strategic cybersecurity initiatives that strengthen enterprise resilience, advance Zero Trust principles, and ensure security capabilities evolve alongside emerging threats, cloud adoption, and AI technologies! As a Principal Cybersecurity Domain Architect, you will serve as the technical authority for Network Security, Endpoint Security, and Detection & Response. This is a deep, focused role for an architect who wants authority and mastery in a defined lane rather than breadth across the entire enterprise. You will set the direction for how Micron designs, deploys, and operates its network, endpoint, and detection and response capabilities, and be the go-to design authority that engineering, operations, and security leadership rely on within these domains. As we adopt AI and autonomous agent technologies at pace, this role extends detection and response to cover agentic defense, detecting and responding to threats against and originating from AI agents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience with significant time spent in security architecture and engineering roles.
  • Deep expertise in network security, endpoint security, and detection & response within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing security reference architectures, standards, governance models, and strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Strong knowledge of Zero Trust, defense-in-depth, and industry frameworks such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience evaluating, designing, and implementing security technologies including EDR/XDR, SIEM, SOAR, and modern network security platforms.
  • Understanding of emerging AI security risks and the ability to extend detection and response capabilities to address agentic threats.
  • Exceptional communication and partner management skills with experience influencing senior technical and business leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, ISSAP, GIAC, SABSA, cloud security, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications.
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise-scale EDR/XDR, SIEM/SOAR, Zero Trust, ZTNA, SSE, and SASE solutions.
  • Experience building detection, monitoring, or response capabilities for AI, LLM, or autonomous-agent environments.
  • Knowledge of AI security frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS or OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.
  • Experience securing manufacturing, OT/ICS, or other critical infrastructure environments.
  • Background supporting global, highly regulated enterprises with hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Experience partnering directly with CSO, CISO, or executive security leadership on risk and architecture strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve reference architectures, standards, design principles, and multi-year roadmaps for Network Security, Endpoint Security, and Detection & Response.
  • Serve as the enterprise security design authority, conducting architecture reviews and approving security designs for new initiatives and technologies.
  • Define technology strategies, evaluation criteria, and platform selections across EDR/XDR, SIEM, SOAR, network security, and related controls.
  • Drive Zero Trust, defense-in-depth, segmentation, secure access, endpoint protection, and detection engineering strategies across the enterprise.
  • Ensure detection and response architectures support rapid investigation, containment, recovery, and cyber resiliency objectives.
  • Partner with AI Enablement and security leadership teams to develop detection and response capabilities for AI systems and autonomous agents.
  • Produce security risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend remediation strategies for proposed solutions.
  • Mentor architects and engineers while serving as the senior domain expert for complex cybersecurity decisions and executive briefings.
