About The Position

Forcepoint is seeking a full-time Principal Cyber Engineer to facilitate installation, configuration, integration, and training of our COTS cyber products. This individual must be highly motivated, have great interpersonal skills, and be a quick learner. The successful candidate will receive specialized training and is expected to become proficient in all aspects of complex software solution deployment.

Requirements

  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related field with 8+ years of cyber security experience including practices/methodologies, application design, and/or operational environment experience.
  • Advanced DLP, CASB, SSE, DSPM, and network administration knowledge.
  • Advanced Windows / macOS / Linux/Unix administration including software distribution techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of security design and architecture, Active Directory/LDAP/IDP, computer virtualization, and cloud architecture (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Enterprise network architecture, zero trust networking, SD-WAN, advanced firewall/proxy, and hybrid/cloud network security design.
  • Must coordinate collaboratively with customers and across multiple internal departments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex installation or application errors; must work and collaborate remotely.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the Forcepoint product portfolio.
  • Python, shell scripting, SQL, XML; expert-level REST API integration and automation development.
  • Experience with SOAR orchestration tools (Splunk SOAR, Palo Alto XSOAR, or equivalent).
  • CISSP or CISM preferred; cloud professional certification (e.g., CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Cloud certification at professional or specialty level; MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat-informed defense strategies.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III (e.g., CISSP, CASP+) preferred for government-facing engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering, installation, configuration, integration, and training of Forcepoint COTS cyber products.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and on-site support to customers including version upgrades.
  • Prepare technical documentation including as-built designs, requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures; produce executive briefings and EBR-ready deliverables for customer and Forcepoint leadership.
  • Provide technical briefings to customer and Forcepoint corporate leadership as required.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to key accounts; partner with account executives and sales leadership to drive technical wins, support renewal strategy, identify expansion opportunities, and influence the customer's long-term security roadmap.
  • Architect and lead complex REST API integration engagements (SIEMs, SOAR platforms, identity providers, cloud-native services); provide technical mentorship to junior engineers on API and automation best practices.
  • Serve as the primary voice of the customer to Forcepoint product and engineering leadership; proactively document and escalate product gaps and feature requests to directly influence the product roadmap.
  • Serves as technical lead within the PS team; mentors and develops Associate (Prof3) and Senior (Prof4) engineers on deployment practices, integration techniques, and customer engagement standards.
