About The Position

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is seeking an experienced Term Contract Classification and Compensation Analyst to join their team. This role will support the implementation of the Commission’s new enterprise-wide Workday ERP/Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This is a critical backfill position designed to maintain business continuity and seamless execution of the Agency’s compensation strategy. This Term Contract, Classification and Compensation Analyst (Corporate Human Resources Specialist III) will play a crucial role in supplementing the Classification and Compensation Team as they continue to support the organizational goals and objectives and simultaneously implement the new Workday ERP/Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This position plays a vital role by providing dedicated capacity to handle peak workloads, clear classification backlogs, and ensure competitive compensation structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or any related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience performing HR work in the assigned program(s).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which total eight (8) years.
  • Valid driver’s license in accordance with both state and Commission rules and regulations.
  • Driver’s license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee’s ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required by the position of assignment.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and HRIS (preferably Workday or Lawson/Infor).

  • Workday certifications
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting job classifications and evaluations using point factor evaluation system and preparing written reports on findings.
  • Developing classification specifications/position descriptions along with corresponding reports; determining proper occupational series and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) designation.
  • Analyzing salary structures, salary exceptions, salary equity requests, and requests for reclassification.
  • Participating in salary surveys and analyzing market pricing.
  • Assisting with and participating in the new Workday system implementation, testing, and training as required.
  • Interacting with clients on a daily basis.
