As a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Compute AI Infrastructure Bare Metal Provisioning team, you will own the software design and development of major OCI components. The team automates the full server lifecycle, from creating new platform shapes and bringing up hardware to provisioning customer-ready instances and managing firmware. Its services connect bare-metal hardware with full-stack orchestration frameworks and include interfaces to BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, ILOMs, GPUs, and custom firmware stacks. The team builds scalable, high-performance microservices and tools to provision, configure, secure, and validate server platforms across OCI’s Compute and GPU fleet. You will work on distributed infrastructure and low-level systems, designing, developing, operating, and debugging across the stack. You will collaborate with teams in Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, and Hardware Development to launch, scale, and maintain server platforms reliably and with minimal operational overhead. The work includes exposure to cutting-edge GPU hardware and new Compute systems. Oracle describes the workplace as dynamic and flexible, with autonomy and support, and emphasizes inclusion, respect, learning, and career growth. This position requires living near Nashville, Tennessee, or relocating there, for regular onsite work.
