As a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Compute AI Infrastructure Bare Metal Provisioning team, you will own software design and development for major OCI components. The team automates the full server lifecycle, from creating new platform shapes and bringing up hardware to customer-ready instance provisioning and firmware management. Its services connect bare-metal hardware with full-stack orchestration frameworks and build high-performance, scalable microservices and tools to provision, configure, secure, and validate server platforms across OCI’s Compute and GPU infrastructure fleet. You will work with hardware and firmware including BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, ILOMs, GPUs, and custom firmware stacks. You will partner with teams in Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, and Hardware Development to launch, scale, and maintain server platforms with high reliability and minimal operational overhead. The role involves designing, developing, operating, and debugging distributed systems and low-level systems such as Linux, Docker, Java web services, and Terraform. The position is based near Nashville, Tennessee, with regular office attendance required; candidates may relocate to the area. Oracle describes the workplace as dynamic and flexible, with autonomy and support to do your best work. The company emphasizes equity, inclusion, respect, collaboration, learning, and career growth.
