Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Host Provisioning Services (HoPS) team. HoPS owns infrastructure that automates the server lifecycle, from rack integration and hardware bring-up through customer-ready instance provisioning and firmware management. Its services operate between bare-metal hardware and full-stack orchestration frameworks, interfacing with components such as BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, ILOMs, GPUs, and custom firmware stacks. The role architects and delivers highly available services and automation pipelines for server provisioning at hyperscale. It supports firmware pinning for deterministic customer environments, fleet-wide firmware updates, and telemetry-based observability. The engineer will also contribute to support for new silicon platforms, SmartNIC/HostNIC convergence, Root of Trust security integration, and next-generation clusters and composable hardware environments. The position works closely with teams across Compute, Networking, Security, Datacenter Engineering, and Hardware Development to launch, scale, and maintain server platforms reliably and with minimal operational overhead. This position requires onsite work in Nashville, Tennessee. Candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Nashville area. The role includes on-call support for customer fleet issues in OCI data centers.
