Principal Cloud DevSecOps Engineer
About The Position
SAIC is seeking a Principal Cloud & DevSecOps Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to support advanced cloud deployments into C2E (Commercial Cloud Enterprise) AWS environments. As part of this role, you will work on the integration of modern cloud orchestration frameworks with secure DevSecOps pipelines, enabling agile, secure, and reliable cloud services tailored to DoD and mission-critical environments. This effort will deliver secure cloud architecture, automated deployment pipelines, and security compliance enforcement across mission domains—bridging intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, and command and control operations. The Cloud & DSO Engineer will collaborate closely with government, mission partners, and SAIC teams to design and implement secure cloud-native platforms capable of addressing evolving warfighter requirements.

- Experience producing technical documentation, system architectures, and pipeline guides.
Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support rapid prototyping, automating the scaling of microservices, Kubernetes clusters, and infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Snyk, SonarQube) and enable GitOps workflows for automated deployments.
- Build infrastructure as code (IaC) for C2E multi-cloud environments, ensuring compliance with DoD frameworks and deploying secure Kubernetes workloads.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources, performance, and costs within C2E environments, integrating logging and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Loki, Fluentd).
- Apply DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., STIGs, RMF), perform system hardening, vulnerability scans, and implement automated remediation across cloud pipelines.
- Work with cross-functional teams to update cloud applications and produce technical documentation, system architectures, and pipeline guides.
