About The Position

At AT&T, we're modernizing enterprise technology platforms through cloud transformation, automation, and DevOps excellence. We're seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Azure Cloud & DevOps Platform Engineer) to lead Azure infrastructure engineering, cloud migration initiatives, platform automation, and application modernization efforts supporting critical enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, identity, and governance.
  • Experience leading cloud migration and application modernization programs.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Helm, or related IaC technologies.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, and container-based deployments.
  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, enterprise security, IAM, and platform governance.
  • Experience supporting production environments, monitoring, incident management, and operational reliability.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator, etc.).
  • Experience with Snowflake and Databricks administration in Azure.
  • Background in large-scale Agile/SAFe environments.
  • Experience introducing automation, developer productivity improvements, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Telecom or large enterprise technology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, automation, and operational support for Azure-based infrastructure and platform services.
  • Drive migration and modernization of legacy applications and infrastructure to Azure.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and deployment automation.
  • Support enterprise data platforms including Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Partner across engineering, security, architecture, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
  • Implement cloud-native architectures leveraging containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and microservices.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, performance, and reliability practices across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Lead production support, troubleshooting, incident response, and platform standardization initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers on DevOps, automation, cloud engineering, and operational excellence.
