About The Position

Principal Associate, Content Editor Capital One Auto is seeking a Principal Associate, Content Editor for its Auto Navigator product. In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will create editorial content for publication to our Auto Learning Center, as well as other areas of the Auto Navigator platform. Opportunities to author articles for our off-platform content distribution pipeline may also be available. The ideal candidate does not just execute tasks; they define content intent, proactively identify gaps, and take full ownership, from initial data-backed hypothesis to final publication. Responsibilities include ensuring all content adheres to our established standards and guidelines. Writing, line editing, fact-checking, image prep, and utilization of our SEO/GEO tools will be part of your daily routine.

Requirements

  • A 'Content Strategist' mindset: You can advocate for the why behind your editorial choices
  • Proven experience in managing the end-to-end editorial lifecycle—balancing creative ambition with data-driven performance metrics
  • Strong organizational skills and experience establishing priority order to various workstreams
  • A professional understanding of SEO/GEO principles and experience with related tools including Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and GEO measurement tools
  • Experience editing multiple content types
  • Talent for translating complex automotive mechanical and technology concepts for the average car shopper
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of writing and editing as part of an editorial staff at a media outlet or content production company

Nice To Haves

  • Enthusiasm for AI workstreams
  • Experience with digital photography and Adobe Photoshop
  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications or related field
  • 5+ years of writing and editing as part of an editorial staff at an automotive media outlet
  • 1+ year of experience working on automotive agency accounts or automotive companies

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and validate content opportunities through competitive analysis and user insights
  • Develop authoritative articles rooted in proprietary data
  • Partner with our content agencies to ensure continuous qualitative feedback on deliverables
  • Use data and consumer intent to drive editorial roadmaps
  • Ensure all content adheres to our established standards and guidelines
  • Writing, line editing, fact-checking, image prep, and utilization of our SEO/GEO tools
