About The Position

Capital One Brand Creative is looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director to bring our brand to life across different audiences, products, channels and types of communication. We are a Fortune 100 finance company offering credit cards, banking products & services, and best-in-class technology. Our brand is personable, fun, and engaging, aiming to help customers feel at ease on their financial journey. This role is for a champion of strategic ideas with exceptional design chops and a customer-focused marketing background.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of design experience in a professional setting
  • At least 3 years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • At least 3 years of experience in Figma
  • Candidates must provide a portfolio of their creative work for consideration

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year working as an Associate Creative Director or leading creative work
  • At least 1 year of experience designing for email, display and social posts
  • At least 2 years of experience in UX/UI or wireframing
  • Experience using AI tools and emerging technology in creative development
  • Experience in one or more of the following marketing areas: B2B, B2C, Experiential, Performance, or Direct Response
  • Experience in the financial services industry

Responsibilities

  • Design creative for a range of print and digital channels, including email, web, direct mail, display, and social media.
  • Brainstorm big concepts and tackle detail-oriented projects.
  • Influence, collaborate, and lead with smart people.
  • Drive work with a copywriter partner and creative director.
  • Drive work with partners—internal marketing, line-of-business, legal and testing.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, being equally comfortable doing the work yourself or leading peers, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Create marketing that cuts through the noise.
  • Use strategy to inform creative decisions.
  • Understand the importance of integrated thinking across channels, products and audiences, while staying true to the brand.
  • Learn from consumer insights and let them influence your work.
  • Approach each project through a creative testing lens, seeking to optimize design work through use of testing tools.
  • Leverage AI tools to spark new ideas and test creative executions, using technology to complement and scale artistic vision.
  • Push the process and mindsets of others to create great customer experiences and strengthen our brand.
  • Manage multiple deadlines on numerous projects happening at the same time.
  • Deliver error-free work, using best practices with keen attention to detail.
  • Listen to and incorporate feedback.
  • Determine when to use existing solutions or start from scratch to invest time where it matters.
  • Understand project goals, take direction well, and ask questions when clarity is needed.
  • Present work in a compelling way to create support across different audiences.
