About The Position

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Principal Architect for its Johnston, Rhode Island location. This role involves providing architectural mentorship and oversight at a Company Platform level, including its supporting Technical Platform. The Principal Architect will work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams to drive tangible results, deliver roadmaps, and contribute to strategic planning. The position requires presenting designs to an Architecture Review Board and senior management, identifying product standards, and contributing to solution approaches and designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as Principal Architect, Solution Architect, or related position preparing application solution design and high-level architecture.
  • 7 years of experience with Architect tools, including Enterprise Sparx, and Microsoft Visio.
  • 7 years of experience developing cloud native applications to facilitate deployment of cloud infrastructure, including AWS EC2, Lambda, RDS SQL Server, Redis Cache.
  • 7 years of experience implementing security standards and protocols including OWASP, oAuth2.0 using, SAML, JSON Wen Token (JWT), Kerberos, Spring Security, and IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM).
  • 7 years of experience utilizing messaging technologies, including JMS, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, and IBM MQ to build scalable and reliable messaging systems.
  • 7 years of experience utilizing Microservice development and design patterns, NoSQL Databases, AWS Cloud, and CICD pipeline to architect new generation platforms and systems.
  • 7 years of experience architecting cloud native applications using Domain Driven Design, Microservice design patterns, and 12 factor app methodologies.
  • 7 years of experience building Event Driven Systems with event sourcing using KAFKA, Data/Activity Streams, and Docker/Kubernetes.
  • 7 years of experience utilizing Spring Core, AOP, DAO, Boot, Batch, REST, Cloud Bus, Spring Boot Admin, and Spring Security to build robust and scalable enterprise applications.
  • 7 years of experience developing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring and Jersey, and employed technologies like MOXy, Jackson, Swagger, Layer7, APIGEE, Netflix Zuul, Hystrix, Resilient4j, and Apache Camel to enhance functionality and performance.
  • 7 years of experience utilizing programming languages, including Java, J2EE, Swing, and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural mentorship and oversight at a Company Platform level, including its supporting Technical Platform.
  • Work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams, including business development, product management, software engineering, cyber-security and departmental executives to drive tangible results.
  • Responsible for delivering roadmaps and strategic directions for business units.
  • Contribute to, and review results of, RFPs and Options Analysis with a specific focus on strategic planning and architecture roadmaps.
  • Present designs and ideas to an Architecture Review Board (ARB) and to Technology and business senior management.
  • Identify and prescribe product standards, deployment patterns and reference architectures.
  • Contribute to the Solution Approach and Solution Design deliverables.
