About The Position

We are seeking a Principal Architect to oversee the end-to-end architecture of the PC Optimum ecosystem for a 12-month contract term. In this role, you will be a technical leader, driving the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that deliver exceptional experiences to our members and front line. You will be responsible for defining and championing a future-proof cloud-first architecture.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of proven experience architecting and building large-scale, distributed systems, ideally within the loyalty, retail, or eCommerce space.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
  • Expertise in real-time integrations leveraging APIs.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms primarily GCP (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), and data integration patterns.
  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment, with a focus on continuous integration and delivery.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Passion for technology and innovation, with a strong desire to build world-class loyalty experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define and Champion Architectural Vision: Develop and drive a comprehensive technical architecture for the loyalty ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Drive Technology Strategy: Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform the PC Optimum Technology roadmap and make strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure Scalability and Performance: Architect solutions capable of handling the demands of a rapidly growing customer base and evolving business needs, with a focus on performance optimization.
  • Champion Security: Embed security best practices throughout the design and development lifecycle, safeguarding customer data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Partner closely with PCO product management, digital, engineering, Stores, and other key stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Communicate Clearly: Articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, effectively communicating the vision, strategy, and design rationale.
