Principal Architect

Salesforce•Texas - Remote, TX

About The Position

The Principal AI & Integrated Solutions Architect — Financial Services is the trusted technical lead for strategic financial services accounts, working with banking, insurance, wealth management, and payments customers. The role designs and guides enterprise agentic AI architectures, including governed multi-agent systems, headless and API-first experiences, and unified data and integration patterns spanning Agentforce, Data 360, MuleSoft, and customers’ existing systems. The architect works across the full engagement lifecycle: framing problems with executive and Chief Architect stakeholders, building prototypes that demonstrate value, and preparing work for partners and delivery teams to scale into production and become reusable organizational assets. The role is part of a Financial Services segment team and the broader Regulated Industries architecture community, with exposure to architecture patterns and peers across financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and the public sector. Success is measured through architecture-sourced pipeline and opportunity progression, customer outcomes tied to Agentforce and Data 360 consumption, prototypes that move toward production, adoption of reusable plays, trusted executive relationships, and disciplined engagement records.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of enterprise or solution architecture experience, including significant customer-facing work in financial services such as banking, insurance, wealth or asset management, or payments.
  • Deep hands-on experience with the Salesforce platform, including Financial Services Cloud, Service or Sales Cloud, and Data 360.
  • Enterprise integration experience, ideally with MuleSoft and API-led design.
  • Current practical experience designing and building AI solutions, including LLM-based agents, retrieval and grounding, agent orchestration, and emerging interoperability standards such as MCP and A2A.
  • Ability to personally prototype using code such as Apex, JavaScript/Node, or Python, and AI-assisted development tools; comfort with Git-based workflows.
  • Working knowledge of financial-services regulatory and risk requirements, including privacy, data residency, model risk management, auditability, and AI governance, and how they affect architecture decisions.
  • Executive presence and ability to facilitate contested architecture discussions with Chief Architects and move them to a decision.
  • Team-first operating style, including working within aligned coverage, sharing assets, and helping colleagues succeed.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS.
  • Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and ERP technologies.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce certifications such as Agentforce Specialist, Data Cloud Consultant, Application Architect, or System Architect, or progress toward CTA.
  • Experience on the customer or system integrator side of large financial-services transformations.
  • Exposure to process intelligence or agentic operations tooling.
  • Published points of view, conference talks, or open reusable assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agentic AI architecture for strategic accounts, including discovery, organizational assessments, current- and future-state architecture, and architectural direction through production handoff.
  • Shape architectural decisions involving agent orchestration, MCP and agent-to-agent interoperability, headless and composable design, data foundations, and trust and governance.
  • Co-build working prototypes and proof-of-value assets using customers’ data and objects and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Deliver defined engagement models covering agentic operating-model economics, governed headless experiences, enterprise-scale multi-agent systems, and executive North Star architecture.
  • Contribute new content and reusable components to the shared library.
  • Prepare architecture, data dictionaries, process maps, and agent metadata for partners, system integrators, and delivery teams to take work into production while preserving design intent.
  • Set clear engagement entry and exit gates to support planned and predictable delivery.
  • Advise CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, and business leaders by translating architecture into business value and fitting designs to financial-services regulatory, data-residency, model-risk, and operating-model constraints.
  • Represent Salesforce at executive briefings, architecture review boards, and industry events.
  • Mentor architects and account teams; contribute points of view, reference architectures, and reusable assets.
  • Collaborate with account executives, sales engineers, Professional Services, forward-deployed engineers, partners, and product teams.
  • Maintain disciplined engagement records so impact is visible and credited.
