About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly experienced Aircraft Integration Engineer to lead the integration of the Family of Affordable Mass Missiles (FAMM) across USAF and related platforms. This role involves serving as the Program Interface Manager and primary Point of Contact (POC), collaborating with various teams and agencies throughout the weapon lifecycle. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining interface documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, identifying and mitigating risks, and developing Test & Evaluation strategies. Additionally, the role requires providing weapon support, resolving integration issues, maintaining expertise in relevant military standards, developing training materials, and traveling as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a similar field and 8-14 years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in multi-faceted tests and test project teams, to include oversight of scheduling with a focus on developmental test or operational test (DT/OT).
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MS/ME) degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a similar field is highly desired with 6-12 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Family of Affordable Mass Missiles (FAMM) physical/electrical aircraft integration across USAF and related platforms.
  • Serve as Program Interface Manager and primary Point of Contact (POC), collaborating with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), prime contractors, and external agencies throughout the weapon lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Interface Control Document (ICD), define message traffic, and author Interface Change Notices.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safety, environmental, airworthiness, systems engineering, and Foreign Disclosure requirements.
  • Advise leadership by proactively identifying cost, schedule, and performance risks, and provide actionable mitigation strategies to reduce time-to-flight and integration lead times.
  • Develop and implement advanced Test & Evaluation (T&E) strategies and validation methodologies.
  • Provide weapon support at Software Integration Laboratory (SIL) events, reviewing procedures and reports.
  • Proactively resolve integration issues for novel systems to improve reliability, survivability, and lethality in a rapid fielding environment.
  • Maintain mastery and serve as the office authority for MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and other USG Universal Armament Interface (UAI) languages and protocols.
  • Ensure the longevity of this technical expertise within the office.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials and brief combat operators and staff on FAMM capabilities.
  • Travel as required by the government customer to support meetings, events, and program milestones.
