About The Position

Ramboll is seeking an experienced Principal to join their Air Quality team within the Environment and Health department. This role is crucial for developing innovative and sustainable air quality solutions and driving business growth in the Houston area. The Principal will provide technical and business leadership, manage consulting assignments, and foster collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams. A key aspect of this role is the ability to generate and maintain business sufficient to support team growth, typically enough to support 2-3 staff members. The successful candidate will be adept at project management, client and regulatory agency relations, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
  • Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
  • Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships
  • Ability to internally manage staff and competing project priorities
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities
  • Must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Expected to be proficient in the analysis and communication of information
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
  • Expected to be proficient in all facets of project management
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing Associate and Manager level staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
  • Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings
  • Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
  • Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
  • Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
  • Conducting site visits
