About The Position

Ramboll is seeking an experienced Air Quality Principal to join their Environment and Health department. This role will focus on providing technical and business leadership to develop innovative air quality solutions, with a strong emphasis on business development to grow the Houston business unit. The Principal will work within a collaborative team, managing projects, clients, and regulatory relationships, and mentoring junior staff. The position requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations, air quality issues, and project management, with the goal of contributing to sustainable change.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
  • Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance.
  • Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships.
  • Ability to internally manage staff and competing project priorities.
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical and business leadership in air quality solutions.
  • Generating and maintaining a volume of business sufficient to support the growth of the firm (typically enough to support 2-3 staff members).
  • Managing consulting assignments and working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Analyzing and communicating information related to air quality.
  • Working cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making.
  • Proficiency in all facets of project management.
  • Mentoring and developing Associate and Manager level staff.
  • Collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice.
  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations.
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations.
  • Communicating findings to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials.
  • Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings.
  • Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings.
  • Conducting site visits.
