About The Position

Ramboll is seeking a Principal, Air Quality to join their Environment and Health department. This role offers a great opportunity for local leadership and advancement, particularly for recognized leaders in the consulting marketplace for the Baton Rouge, LA area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and business leadership, contributing to innovative solutions across various sectors, and generating sufficient business to support firm growth. They will manage consulting assignments, work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, and be proficient in project management, analysis, and communication. A commitment to mentoring junior staff and collaborating with colleagues is also expected.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
• 15+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment
• Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
• Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
• Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
• Demonstrated business development capabilities
• Must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Expected to be proficient in the analysis and communication of information
• Must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
• Expected to be proficient in all facets of project management
• Must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing Associate and Manager level staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
• Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
• Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings, to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
• Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
• Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
• Conducting site visits
